Ribbon PonchoDimensions: 22-1/2"from neck to point Materials:
Gauge: 5 sts/ 4" in pattern stitch Hint: Dealing with ends when you are knitting with ribbon can be hard. To solve this, when I started the new ball of yarn, I actually got out a needle and thread and sewed the ends together. I did about a ≤‰ overlap and just stitched around the edges. It made a nice join and saved me having to sew in all but the cast on and bind off ends. Cast on 34 sts very loosely. Row 1: K2, *YO, K2tog, K1* repeat *to *until 2 sts remain, YO, K2tog. Row 2: P2, *YO, P2tog, P1* repeat * to * until 2 sts remain, YO, P2tog. Repeat rows 1 & 2 until piece measures 58" hanging from the needle, finishing with a Right Side row. Bind off purlwise, loosely, leaving a long tail to sew with.
Sew the bound-off edge to the side of the other end, starting at the cast-on edge. You can adjust the size of the neck opening by how far up you sew. I would recommend stretching the bind-off edge and sewing it up the side a little farther than you would think. The neck opening tends to stretch some while you are wearing it. Sew in ends. In the great fringe/no-fringe debate, I decided to go with no fringe. If you decide you want fringe, be sure to get another skein of yarn!
